Just as well, because it hasn't!
BUT … there have been some
unexpected benefits – other than (virtually) meeting many wonderful
bloggers and readers, that is.
Several months ago, I got one of those
emails. You know the type of thing – 'you've won a prize, all you
need to do is join our club …' - the sort of email I'd
immediately trash. Usually. But luckily I didn't in this case – because the
email from Explore
Australia was for real!!
I'd been nominated for their 2011 Road
Tripper Hall of Fame competition and there I was on their Facebook Page as Miss May!
Nice!!
Of course I never dreamed I'd win.
Just as well, because I didn't!!
BUT … I was a runner-up AND I won
this FAAAABULOUS book produced by the Explore Australia people –
Great Gourmet Weekends in Australia.
BUT … that's not all! Part
#1 of my interview on their wonderful blog appears
today!! WOO HOO!!!
Feel free to go and read it now! I'll
wait …
… great, you're back!!
Here's all you need to do to win this
marvellous giveaway!
- Leave a comment below (about anything!) by 12:00 pm, Monday 6th Feb 2012 (OZ Eastern Daylight Saving Time); AND
- Indicate that you're entering the giveaway (open to any commenter with an Australian postal address); AND
- Make sure I can contact you by email you if you win! (If I can't find an email address, or I don't receive your Australian postal address within 3 days of contacting you, a new winner will be selected)
PLEASE
NOTE: This wonderful giveaway is only available
to entrants with an Australian postal address.
But don't let
that stop you from visiting the Explore
Australia Bookshop – there's a terrific array of
books. SO ... even if your entry is unsuccessful, you needn't miss out!!
And don't forget! Part 2 of my
interview will be on the Explore
Australia Blog tomorrow!!
Good luck!!!
PS For those who aren't able to enter,
I leave you with this gratuitous Outback cliché shot of – you
guessed it – a windmill! Why? Because it's been ages … Enjoy!!
| Visitor Information Centre Windmill, Kaniva, Western Victoria |
PPS Now ... how can I nominate myself for the 2012 Road Tripper Hall of Fame competition??!!
Update 08 Feb 2012 - After all sorts of machinations involving lists of all Aussie commenters, spreadsheets, numbers, and the random.org random sequence generator , I'm pleased to announce the winner of the giveaway!!
Congratulations Andrew - hope you enjoy your book!!
Thanks to all commenters - if you missed out this time, you can still be a winner by buying yourself a little consolation prize at the Explore Australia Bookshop !!
AND ... if you missed my interviews on the Explore Australia blog, now's as good a time as any to catch up! Enjoy!!

Hi there - well done!
ReplyDeleteI'd love the book - which means I have no chance, which means I will it etc, etc, etc.
Cheers - Stewart M.
PS: I'm sure that there are stacks of medicinal plants we have forgotten about, but I don’t think there were ever any signs!!
Congratulations and many thanks for becoming a follower on my page. You're a good sport!!
ReplyDeleteWhoohoo! Miss May, now that's so cool, sort of like fulfilling a High School dream on an intellectual level.

ReplyDeleteI can't enter... but let me tell you. I don't need any book on Australia because I have you!! I visit Australia every time I set foot on your blog.
I left a comment on Explore Australia also
Good Job Red!!!
That was funny. I seemed to learn more about you from that one interview than I have from reading your blog. So you would advise us that we probably shouldn't try to metaphorically put our apartment on wheels to tow around Australia? I have bad memories of only being able to use the dishwasher on a Murray River house boat when it was stationary.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Red, enjoyed your interview immensely, personally I think you should have won haha! Seriously I do!!
ReplyDeletehaving met people like you in this blogoshpere, is the most rewarding part of blogging!
ReplyDeleteyay, congratulations!
that was an excellent interview, red, i really enjoyed reading it!!

Congrats on nearly two years of blogging,
ReplyDeletecongrats on the nominations, and congrats on a great blog.
Congrats, Ms. OZ, it's a pleasure to get to know you better. I admire your adventurous spirit and would LOVE to take off to see the USA in a camping trailer. Don't think it's going to happen but a girl can dream...
ReplyDeleteOK, the windmill will have to do for this reader. But I can congratulate you, can't I?
ReplyDeleteRight, congratulations!
OH HOW FUN!!!! Exciting to be runner up nonetheless. SO cool you won something out of it too. WOOT!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book, unfortunatly I am not in Australia.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Congrats on your win well deserved :-).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go read the interview now.
Love Australia. I'd be chuffed to win a copy of 'Great Gourmet Weekends in Australia'!

Part Two is just as interesting, Red. I'm from the Atherton Tablelands and I fully understand why you'd want to live there, I miss is a lot.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Keep up the good work. I'm entering the free give away, thanks.
ReplyDeleteVincent

Good for you Red May :)
Congrats on winning the book. Quite an honour!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I don't have an Australian address but suspect tons of your Ozzie readers will vie for the prize. :)
It looks as if you have many entrants in your giveaway, so I'm glad I can't add to your job of selecting a winner. I did enjoy your photo of the windmill against that gorgeous sky.

ReplyDelete@Miss Tina - Thank you, my friend!
@Andrew - I can tell you're going internally beserk ...
